I need your expert opinion. I found a 2012 VW Beetle turbo 6 speed manual with 26000 miles at a dealer. Runs and drives great. The car fax is good with no concerns. One owner local here in TN. There asking around 20k. What’s your thoughts?
The mileage is extremely suspicious (less than 2200 miles per year) and would need to be confirmed. A 12-year-old turbocharged VW is very likely to be a money pit. $20,000 is an insane price for it. For a few grand more you could buy a new Corolla.
The kbb.com site, whose prices are inflated to begin with, pegs the dealer selling price of a 2012 Beetle turbo in good condition with 26K miles at about $12,000.
Pass on all VW products. They are made like <you know what> even with that mileage, and now it’s out of warranty. We’ve talked ad nauseum about avoiding VW if you do a search on our forum.

He hasn't reviewed newer examples of this model yet.
Unless the previous owner never drove it due to being elderly, pass, that's way for money than an 11-year-old car is worth.
