Hello, I have a 1997 VW golf with 145k miles and the airbag light is on, I scanned it, and the code is 00589 what could be the problem and how can I fix it? thank you in advance

Well even I don't mess with airbags on Volkswagens the stuff cost so much money and you can't fix them without a VW dealer level bi-directional stand tool. Plus the parts cost a small fortune and then have to be reprogrammed once you replace them with sad Volkswagen dealer level scan tool. Volkswagens are basically a scam to rip off the people who buy them as they age
