My Blue motion Golf 1.9 tdi 2008 started making a popping noise that got louder and louder. It is much louder if you take the air filter off. Putting my hand over the intake hole inside the air filter you can fill it popping. The dpf light was lit and put dpf cleaner in the fuel tank about 20 minutes before it began to pop. It was also making a whistling noise from the turbo when first driving off then it stopped after a hundred yards, the whistling has been happening fir about a month prior. The video is hard to read it sounds higher pitched which would lead me more to a top end engine noise possibly valve train . How’s the oil level and condition?
