Hello,
For the last month or so my 2007 VW Golf (134k,DSG) super and turbo charged 1.4 tsi has been having some acceleration issues. When under moderate to heavy acceleration the engine will rev fine up to 2800-3000rpm then will stay at that rev range followed by a complete throttle cut for a split second, it then will be back on boost and pulling fine from 3500rpm onward. It does a similar thing when going up a hill and I apply more accelerator. The engine will drop to around 1500rpm, dump all its boost and then the engine power will cut fully for ~half a second, after this it will downshift then continue to be fine. Really strange and super difficult to explain. The symptoms seem to be under high load scenarios. When in Tiptronic the issue never seems to happen if you keep it in the 3000rpm + range. The transmission also starts off and shifts fine with everyday driving.
No fault codes. I have given the car to an authorized VW services center but they couldn't recreate the problem or couldn't find anything after running a full health check.
Any help would be great as I am lost on what could be the issue.
- Well I'm not a Volkswagen fan and it is a super and a turbocharger around it the level of complexity reaches that of insanity. And usually the Volkswagen dealers they don't give a crap on working on those old ones so they really don't want to spend much time analyzing them. Now you would have to find a top notch VW mechanic with an extremely analytical mind to see what the heck was bogging down on that thing between the insane transmission in a super and a turbocharger there are so many things that could go wrong.
