Hi everyone,
I had the battery changed in my VW Jetta a while back and i've noticed that the aux port stopped working. This is the original radio that came with the car, not aftermarket. In this model, you press the 'scan' button twice and it switches to the aux menu but now nothing comes up. I read online that this is a common problem when the battery is disconnected and the solution is to recode the radio with a VW dealer level scan tool (or something like VCDS). But when i took it the dealer (and a friend who has VCDS) they both said they their scan tools can't connect to the radio and gives the following code "00003 - Control Module: Defective". Of course the dealer suggested $800 for a new radio but that's pretty much how much the car is worth. But it's odd because everything works fine on the radio, it's only the aux functionality that stopped working. I can't find any help online on VW forums, so i'm wondering if anyone here has encountered a similar problem?
I would either live with it or install an aftermarket one.
Throw out the stock junk & install an aftermarket android system as @yaser mentioned.
