2006 VW Jetta, 160k, 2.5 with a 6 speed automatic transmission. Transmission shifts fine when you first drive the car but after I drive it for 20 miles or so it will slip or get stuck in 5th gear and wont go in reverse, but if I shut the car off for 10 seconds or so and drive it again it will work fine for like 5 miles. Any answers or help will be greatly appreciated.

Only thing i can sugest is check oil in gearbox low levels can make them shift bad or not go into gear

Thankfully, you have the manual one and less things can go wrong compared to automatic ones. replace the fluid.
