Hi Scotty,
I want to buy an old pickup. A Ford or GM. Something old enough to not have a computer screen on the dash. Can you recommend a model to look for? Are there any trustworthy dealers in the country that I should look at? Someplace where they don't use road salt.
You will probably get more info/recommendations if you were a little more specific as to the state/region you're looking in, the price range, 4x4 or 2wd, etc.
Try Hemmings Motor Week.
Me, I'd get a Ford or Chevy from the 60 or 70's. 350 V8, carburated, NO EMISSION CONTROLS,
Chevy: 350 V8, TH400 trans, R12 AC, Holley carb.
How old is too old? Do you want fuel injection or is Carburetor ok?
Thanks for the come back. To be more specific.
I'd like a GM pick up 1980 to early 1990's. I prefer the body style of the 80's. V8. 2 wheel or 4 wheel doesn't matter. In close to original condition. Something from the South West USA. I'm willing to go and get it. I'm not looking for a museum piece. Something I'm going to drive and put to work. A truck that you don't need a degree to work on.
