I purchased a 2015 Mazda 3 I sport hatchback with 87,000 miles on it . Has Clean title, is certified from the dealer with one previous owner . I have taken it to myrtle beach from Cincinnati Ohio and to Sarasota florida from Cincinnati Ohio . So since my May of 2020 purchase I have added about 10,000 miles to it . I get regular oil changes and tire rotations at the Mazda dealer I purchased it from. I’ve had no problems with the exception of the air conditioner or actually the fan not coming on which the dealership repaired . Can you tell me with the above information and your unbelievable knowledge of automobiles tell me if my purchase is a good one? Also the final price was close to 10,000
The price depends on your local area. It should be a good car if you take care of it. Make sure you change the engine oil every 5k miles. Also change the transmission fluid if it has not been changed yet.
First I will say don’t buy into that certified vehicle BS dealerships push. If I were selling a vehicle privately and I told you don’t worry, I looked it over and certified everything is ok would you believe me? Probably not, and you would hopefully have a mechanic you trust look it over. In the future you should do that with any vehicle you purchase.
Mazda’s have not had a reputation for being the most dependable vehicles but in the past several years they have improved quite a bit. Sounds like you got lucky and bought one that had been maintained well. Keep up with the maintenance schedule. Don’t buy into 10k mile oil changes, running synthetic try to go for 5k mile changes. Oils cheap, engines aren’t. If you live in an area with high road contaminants like salt, you’ll want to rinse the underside of your car at least every 2 months, up in the wheel wells etc..... easy to do at any car wash. Have your transmission fluid and filter changed every 30k miles, keep an eye on brakes and tires and it should last you a long time.
