1996 Dodge Caravan, 130k Miles, 3,8 liter v6
My friend had put some gas in her car, that she believes had water in it.
It was less than half a gallon she says. Could some water in less than half a gallon of gas cause the van not to start anymore. Like it gets so close, but doesnt want to fully start. Like its right on the edge sometimes in starting but it wont.
I just replaced her fuel pump and still wont start.
Does anyone know of a easy way to drain the gas from these vans. My friend does not know much about cars and needs an easy way to remove the gas.
Like is there a stopper in the gas tank cap, to keep people from stealing the gas? Couldnt she just put a hose down in there and remove the gas. If so does anyone know the size and diameter of the required hose.
Thanks I appreciate all of yals help.
she believes had water in it.
what evidence lead to this belief?
still wont start.
try starting it using starting fluid
She put gas from a gas can that was not sealed and left outside. She believes water is prob in the tank and that she needs to drain it all out. It was running fine, then shortly after she put the gas in, it stopped starting.
well if it was bad gas, then half a gallon is barely anything. Just fill it up with fresh gas, and then keep cranking it over until it works itself through. Maybe boost it from another vehicle so you don't run down the battery. Like I said, some starting fluid can help get it started, and then you can just open the throttle a bit to keep it running and speed up the process.
.
Emptying a fuel tank can be a quite a pain.
