P0706 jerks in D but fine in D3

So i got a accord v6 2005, 2,80k kilometers transmission rebuild at 2,20k. Obd2 scanned engine and everything was in perfect condition, transmission had one code p0706, didnt clear it when I WAS buying it to reduce the price but cleared it later and it didnt came back

The problem is when I put it in drive D it jerks in first gear or maybe it just hunts for gear (seems like) its not like it jerks when going from 1st to 2nd but its a different kind of jerk like it is downshifting or something. But when I drive in D3 or 2 or 1 its smooths as it can be. Doesnt jerk when warmed up drove for more than 10 minutes.

So the dashboard gear shifter lights also seem to be off, in reverse it shows N or D in N. Should I be worried about my transmission going out or drive like this or should I change the park-neutral switch.

If its the transmission, please tell me a quick fix so I can sell it. Thank you 🇨🇦 🍁

Is fluid level OK? If you have an internal transmission problem there is no "quick fix".

However it might just be your neutral safety switch (called the "range sensor" these days). See explanation for P0706 here:

Hopefully the transmission overhaul was done correctly. (Per Scotty many are not.) Transmission problems loom large for that model:

A V6 Accord @174,000 miles that has a rebuilt transmission.. Yes, that rebuilt transmission might be shot.

You state it shifts fine when cars warn up. Have you changed/checked the fluid?

It's possible you just need a new Neutral Safety Switch. The OEM part runs almost $200, but the part can be purchased for much less aftermarket.

I would DIY a new Neutral Safety Switch.
