Water pump service

I have 2010 Mercedes S550 with 139,000 miles. I am 2nd owner and have done regular coolant changes every 35,000 miles. Car runs great but wondering if I should change water pump, thermostat and hoses. I do a lot of road trips and always like to do preventive maintenance. I know age is more a worry than miles for me. What is your advice.

You're changing the coolant way too often.

If the pump works fine, leave it. Visually inspect the condition of the hoses. They don't typically burst without reason.

It’s a 11yr old S550. I’m guessing he’s pretty ‘clenched’, every time he goes out for a drive. Hence the ‘preventative’ preventative maintenance..

Does your owners manual give any intervals? I agree with Joe that the coolant changes seem too often check your owners manual for that and the water pump. You can always check the condition of the hoses, if its fine, why change it?

Thanks for the answers. It's just that I have been on the other end where it seems fine then out it goes. As far as changing to much, manual calls for every 35 - 40 k coolant change. It is my 1st Mercedes and know can be costly if not kept up. Thanks again.
