Hello, I own a 2003 GMC 4x4 2500HD auto trans with a 6.0L engine, it is a Cab and 1/2 with 59K miles and have had it from new. When I plug a friends high dollar Snap-On scan tool into the port, the tool will identify the truck but will not continue with any codes. I'm wondering if there communication trouble? I have the common yellow ABS with the Red break light on the dash cluster, with an audible alarm when you start it for a short time. I'm just trying to break down the problem at hand, I've already cleaned and reattached the ground wires in both locations. I want to confirm all wheel speed sensor operation before I look into the ABS Mogul.

First find somebody else with a different scan tool those snap-on scan tools aren't what they used to be many times they will not interface I have a brand new Chinese night scan tool from think tool that has worked on absolutely everything I plugged it into a funeral Clarksville feel free to bring it to me and I check it out and if it didn't connect then yeah there's some kind of problem but if it identifies the vehicle to me that sounds more like a problem with the scan tool
