Having trouble the last few days accessing this website. I use Firefox as my browser normally and have never needed to use Chrome on any other site but I tried that, I tried with Chrome just now - it gains access, site navigation is very slow.
The 'wordpress verification' displays on screen first when using Firefox, but usually this appears; "Error code: 429 Too Many Requests"
Any help insight would be appreciated .
Like a lot of other sites we are being pummelled by AI bots greedily harvesting as much information as they can gather. At another site that I frequent, over the last few days their management has had to block over 700,000 of these bots and they just keep coming, slowing the site down.
@chucktobias thanks, even Chrome will time out, accessing or on site navigation.. since both browsers are affected I wonder how to usurp this new cost of AI implementation.
The AI bots hammering web sites effectively pose the same problem as deliberate DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks. There are various mitigations possible with varying degrees of effectiveness that some sites have implemented. The "Wordpress verification" message (I've had that message come up here as well) may be part of that.
