Weird engine noise on cold engine and while car warms up the noise is gone?

Hi, my car had an weird engine noise while i started it when the engine was cold. But when the engine warmed up that noise was gone. Then the car didn’t want to start anymore and on the dashboard the red oil warning sign comes on when trying to start the car, but the car has oil on the dipstick?? Can that be something to do with the oilpump? Or something else with the oil?

The car is an old Audi A3 year 2000 with 291k miles. And what can go bad on older cars and with that much miles on it?

And i did change the oil and oilfilter myself and i have diven the car maybe 2-3000miles and the car has started, but now it wont?😩

You need to hook up a mechanical oil pressure gauge to see if you have oil pressure. Ofcourse make sure you have the proper level of oil.  The noise is probably the engine noise as it does not have enough or NO OIL PRESSURE.  When the engine runs and makes noise like that then you are destroying the bearing surfaces.

Another scenario is that you do have oil pressure but you have a restriction of the flow going to parts of the engine whch need lubrication.  No matter what..you need to find out if your oil pump is working correctly and to spec as otherwise its going to get worse before it gets better.

On the dipstick there is oil dripping from it and it is to the max

Well the dipstick indicates the oil is full but you still should have the oil pressure checked to see that it is within specs.  As I said, everytime it makes those noises your damaging your engine due to the lack of lubrication especially at 300K on the odometer.  In my opinion..its tha cars death call so to speak.  You might think of looking for a new set of wheels.

So u mean with that ”looking for a new set of wheels” that i need to buy a new car or?

Yes..your car has 300K miles and thats about the end of the line for the average car. Get rid of it while it is running. If the engine blows up its not worth almost anything. Car age but what year is it as you never revealed that. But no matter..any car with a blown engine is is worth substancially less. You don't have to buy a NEW car but just a another car which has no issues and something which appeals to you that fits your demeanor. As a last ditch move you could also go to a repair facility and validate what my prognosis is for or against to make your final decision to be fair. Being online and persoanlly there are two different environments in which being in person is a lot more accurate to size up your situation.

Here's a trick that may help, note oil level, have someone turn it over for a good continuous 10 sec. pull dip stick, wipe, put back in, pull out... did the level drop? How much? if none or not much, oil pressure issue. and agree, new car. note, car is being turned over continuous during this time, so be quick after 10 sec wait.
However, this doesn't work on all car as it depends on windage tray in pump, so if it doesn't work, you'll just dipstick splashed. If the windage does block the oil from splashing and you have oil pressure, it will indicate close to the low mark.

Before getting to heavily invested, try this. Pull the spark plugs a put a couple squirts of oil in each cylinder. Replace the spark plugs and see if the engine starts.

I Will try that when i get tools to get the spark plugs out

Did you use the right oil?

Are those questions somehow connected with the problem you asked there?

291k miles or km?

Yes i did use right oil. Those other questions are connected to the same problem. But i don’t know what problem it could be but it can be many things..

Did you check if engine is locked? Like Scotty did in this video.

Yes i watch scottys videos often and i have watched that video too. But my cars engine is not locked. And today i took my cars 1 spark plugs out and we tested if there was spark coming from the spark plugs but it was not any spark. So i’m on my way to bring the car to the mechanic to get the other spark plugs out because i didn’t get them 3 other spark plugs out myself because the was too many plastic crap and screws in the way.

So there is the problem in ignition. There is one of Scotty's videos about that.
