hey Scotty. I have a 2012 Ford Fusion SEL v6 3.0L and it’s the flex fuel. I’ve been using ethanol for 2 months because it’s 60 cents cheaper in Michigan. It’s been starting and cranking hard. I’ll start the car and it will take a second and sounds like it’s taking a second to fire up, starter works good, new battery and alternator. When I went to unleaded gas it doesn’t do this? Is this the ethanol gas doing something weird? After starting it, its good for the rest of the day starting on ethanol
Well, presuming no codes, and it runs well on gas and/or warmed up, I'd check the fuel pressure your fuel pump is delivering - insufficient fuel pressure would give balky starting, and it has to pump a somewhat larger volume of fuel.
Does this behavior happen more when it is really cold/vs regular Michigan cold?
