Hello Scotty! Congrats on the new move, new working website, and the likes of it all!
I've been working on Trans Am's most of my life, and now Toyota Prius Hybrids. I have much data collected over the years, as I log every problem I have run into. I also run a hosting server, where I have uploaded and stored some of the information about my fixes. I can contribute to this area, if ever needed with these vehicles. My current project is turning my newer Prius into an autonomous vehicle.
"Keep on rollin'!"

To all the guys (and gals) who want to help out. We need mechanical knowledge and experience. Please answer some visitor questions. There is quite a backlog.
Hi Scotty, I would like to lend my service as moderator as much as I can.
I have been working with automotives since mid-80's, from 2 wheelers mopeds in my pre-teens to restoring old vehicles at my mid-40's now. Check out my youtube channel, not much but hoping that it gives a little insight about me. Cheers!

Nice site. Except I still can't figure out how to ask questions. I press forums and go to submit your question HERE but I don't know what to do after that. Is there something else I press after submit your questions HERE?
@adf13
Click "Ask a question" (in red)
@mountainmanjoe
I don't see ask a question, where is it?
@mountainmanjoe
Strange, that doesn't even show up. Maybe its my device.
@adf13
try disabling ad blockers and browser security. Failing that, try a different browser or device.

Hi Scotty. I hope your move is going well and that your new site is a great success. If you happen to still be looking for moderators, I would like to help. I have never been a professional mechanic but, I have done nearly all of the work on my cars for the last 30 years. I have owned a variety of cars from a 1984 Dodge Caravan to a 2005 Jaguar XJ8 and have had fun looking up solutions and fixing them myself. I found your site a few years ago when I was replacing the brakes on a 2001 Subaru. I would love to help others do the same!
Anyway, if you are interested or want any more info, let me know. Your channel has always been a source of inspiration. I wish people in other walks of life would do similar sites for people to better understand what is going on.
Thanks for everything.
Dan

Hello Scotty,
Hope you are settling in well your new home. I too live in Tennessee and have presence in YouTube with DIY auto repair videos. In addition, I have an on-line site at http://www.hubpages.com or http://www.axleaddict.com where I have been publishing DIY repair articles for the last 10 years. You are welcome to visit these locations and judge for yourself if I may be suitable in partnering with you as a moderator. The sites are as follows:

@hardlymoving
David we mainly need people to help answer questions here. Hope you can help. Thanks.
I'm so happy for you. Everything seems to be better in Tennessee - closer to kids and grand kids, nice house, more garage space, cleaner air and longer roads with no stop signs. You'll definitely have a lot of fun there!
@carkillerapp
Hi Scotty, congratulations on your breakaway from Youtube and your new digs!
Have you considered posting video content to any of the alternate video content hosting sites such as Odysee.com (LBRY.com), Bitchute.com, etc.?
I managed to forget my pw on my account
When I did forgot pw ... (i was not sure of email i used) the one I thought it was it said email process failed?
UN Xtraba
Can you let you give me a temp PW I can change?
Thank you
I did find a couple other things that could be tweaked (with forums setting them up there is always something right)
Will let you know if you have an email I can send to)
Aloha Scotty and Mahalo for all you do for us!
No question, thank you.
I have been through many F150s all ending in banging motors. After watching one of you videos I realized splashing through flooded streets killed them all. Ive had this last one the longest now. Thank you again.
Wow
Dave.
Great idea to make a forum Scotty! I haven't been on one in a decade, back then I was a moderator on a Jeep forum and would spend hours on it (maybe that's why I got off it, lol).
Sub-forums may be a good thing since there are quire a few members! Maybe separated by type of repair (brakes, cooling, engine, transmission, CELight, and brands of vehicles) where folks can apply their knowledge to answer questions in a specific area.

great site
I have been going around and answering questions that are within my purview here on Scotty's forum. If you check I have already answered quite a few questions with detailed instructions on how to go about solving them. I am glad to help out here.
When you have a chance contact me directly as I am glad to be all in helping out.

Excellent! And thank you : )
Awesome site, many thanks to Scotty and his Admins.
What happened to the cat, Lucie?
Hi Scotty and crew,
I love your YouTube videos and find them very informative. I'm not even that interested in cars, I think they are just workhorses some are better looking than others. Clearly some are far better performing than others.
Anyway I, like many of your other fans would would like to see you carry on your stellar work and like a CELICA continue on for many long year. So can I be presumptuous and suggest you change fuel. Ditch the carbs. Eat fat it's the fuel we evolved to use.
Kind Regards
Gerry
I was glad to see this form people helping people unfortunately not to much of that going on these days so I’m glad to be a part of this and will help out in anyway I can.
Is the avatar system broken? I signed up with an email account I'd already had linked to gravatar, but had already stopped using that gravatar account, don't want that avatar for this site. I just want to upload an image as seemingly provided for on the account settings but when I upload it, it won't "take", never switches to using this uploaded image and defaults back to the "Default Avatar" from gravatar.
I have logged back in trying a different browser, also different browser to upload the new avatar and it isn't working. Tried both JPG and PNG image format, still not working?
This forum structure is very odd, I realize it is just starting but where did this forum package come from?
It should have some way to make site suggestions, and to contact staff for account or other issues, at least a separate subforum category for these types of things, but really two subforums would be better, one for only contacting staff and the other for user/peer support of site issues, howtos, etc.
Maybe I'm just not finding the link to something like that? Also, there way too much empty white space on this site, PLEASE get a "dark mode" feature to invert the colors so it is not so blinding. Without a dark mode, there is no way I can use the site without excessive eyestrain, unfortunately.
@j_c
Hi. Welcome. The forum is still in infancy. It will surely evolve as it grows.
If you want to contact staff, simply post a question. (but not in this "Welcome" topic please). If you want it to be viewable only by staff, then hit the private button. If you need to report something serious, use the report button.
I will pass on the dark mode suggestion. For now, there are browser addons which can make the colors dark for you.
Thanks for the suggestions. I hope you find the site useful.
