What could be the cause for my car stalling out?

I have a 2001 lincoln navigator it keeps stalling out when I come to a stop. When I go to restart it sounds flooded and I have to let it set a few minutes then it will start up. Its throwing a p308 code and p401

I think you meant to say code P0308 and P0401. The P0401 indicates a malfunction of the EGR valve which could also be showing as a misfire on cylinder 8. Check the EGR valve connections and either clean it out or replace it, it's clogged.
