What could cause this horrible engine noise on 2005 Honda CR-V

The car has 2.2 liter turbocharged N22A2 eninge, the odometer shows 302k km, 6spd manual

The noise started when I accelerated and shifted from 2nd to 3rd. After which, the engine lost most of the power, but could still run fine. The noise usually starts at 1500 rpm and upwards, it has some inertia to it. I drove home with low enough engine rpm so that the noise was not present.

The noise was first similar to ambulance sirens, but in the next 10-20 seconds developed to more like a horrible screaming sound that you can hear in the video. I drove the car home and the sound didn't change in the meantime.

You can find the video I took here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zt9_TnCM40g

All right, a whizzing noise. Remove the fan belts and see if the noise goes away. If it does great then it's something that drives like the alternator or the power steering pump. If it doesn't go away then it's internal. Probably some type of failure inside the transmission or engine

It's not just the unbearable whine, it's also the loss of power. Although it revs OK, it doesn't have any power to accelerate more that 50-60 km/h. Could it be related to the turbo?

Could it be related to the turbo?

My first impression is the turboloader too...

Can't you locate the sound to that item? Somebody pressing the accelerator (out of gear, handbrake firmly on!) and you listening -using a long screwdriver between and in physical contact to turbo and ear, or better a machinists-stethoscope (a doctor's stethoscope could do it too)- to a non-moving part of the turbo?

(I dislike turbo's because of their inertia)
