I have a 2001 Toyota Avalon and ever since 2016 I can no longer set or display current date. I contacted my Toyota dealer as well as Toyota corporate customer service and they do not have any solution for me. I realize the calendar is set to be used in either the computer or on a ROM in the car.  Being a Toyota owner since 1975 I am testament the Toyotas are reliable long time membership type of vehicle is there any solution to update the calendar so that I can see what the current date and day of the week is? Maybe I can just buy a used smart phone and have it display the calendar then superglue it in front of the digital display on the dash, but with what do I know I am from Texas.
