Hey Scotty I'm looking into buying a 2016-2017 Ford Mustang GT premium with the Cayote V8 and a Manual transmission. I'm currently looking at a 2017 with all the options I want with 27,000kms so around 17,000Miles from a Ford Dealership in Toronto, Canada. What is your opinion on these years of Ford Mustangs? Will it be reliable?

Thanks,

Ingram

No I would pass. Those Mustangs with the manual have the MT-82 which had transmission problems.

Thanks for your swift response. Do you think I should opt for the 6 Speed Automatic than? 🤔

I was also looking at the 2018 and newer models but I heard they had Engine problems with the Cayote v8.

The 6-speeds are light years better than the Ford/GM 10 speeds in the 2018+ cars. I'd stay away from them. The manuals are also Chinese sourced in the newer cars. I don't think those older 16-17s are the same way. I have a '17 V6 with a 6-speed. It's plenty quick enough.
