What does one do if no one local will accept used antifreeze?

I called the city, local auto shops, local auto parts dealers and no one would take my used antifreeze. I did find ONE place and they charged me $10 to dispose of 4 gallons. Kinda hard to comply with EPA laws when it's so hard to find a disposal site. I pity those that live in smaller towns. That said, what does one do if no local entity accepts hazardess waste? Are there alternatives?

You could soak it up with kitty litter and toss it in the trash, but it will cost a lot more in kitty litter to absorb 3 or 4 gallons of antifreeze than you will pay in that disposal fee. $10 isn't that bad, I'd just pay it. Then you know it was disposed of the right way, at least as far as you know.

I wish I could find a place to only pay that much to get rid of some.
