2015 Ford F-350. 62k miles. Gasoline engine. Noticed something loose behind the front passenger-side wheel-well. Jiggled it around until it fell out the bottom. The truck isn't old enough to be shedding parts. What is this part and what is it for? See attached image, TopBottom.JPG

The looks like a heat shield for the exhaust. You should probably find a way to put it back or it's going to start baking all your plastic parts and rubber hoses under the hood.

Yeah it's a stupid heat shield you can see the crappy little spot while the held it on have broken off I see that all the time
