I have had my car for a bit and want to change all the fluids because I don’t know when it was last done. I was wondering if I need to use ford’s fluids if so what fluids do I need to be using. Also do I need to use Ford spark plugs if not what do you recommend. Thanks
You don't need to buy Ford's overpriced fluids or spark plugs that they don't even manufacture. As long as it's OEM quality or an OEM manufacturer, then you're good. NGK is the leading spark plug manufacturer right now, and they do make great spark plugs. But again, you can use any spark plug manufacturer as long as it's the right fitment. Any coolant from an auto parts store would work, but check compatability or recommendations. Any brake fluid would work as long as you use the specified DOT rating for your car (do not mix different DOT rated brake fluids). Same thing with power steering fluid...you can use any one from an auto parts store. Any washer fluid works, even water lol. And the blinker fluid is lifetime on all cars (I had to include this joke here lol).
Now in the case of an automatic transmission, I would get the OEM fluid, not an aftermarket one. Automatic transmissions are sensitive to fluid types, so it's best to use the same fluid it came with out of the factory. I would also stick to the OEM differential fluid as well.
Thank you
All the fluids & oils that your car needs will be listed in your owner’s manual.
Look them up & buy them from any auto part store as the other member suggested.
Use the exact same specification that’s listed in your owner’s manual.
