Engine surges at highway speed

My 2007 Buick Rendezvous RPM surges at highway speeds of 60-70 mph. Fluctuates from 1800 rpm to 3000 rpm. Surges randomly. ? Some research suggest replacing the  TPS (throttle position sensor). ? I have not been able to find any real fixes.

Maybe hook up a scanner ((Live Data)) and record a graph of the TPS voltage as you drive in that speed range. You might get lucky and be recording the TPS signal when it surges and you'll be able to see if the TPS voltage signal is dropping out (or not) during the surging.

More often surging is a fuel delivery (improper air/fuel ratio) symptom. Graph the MAF sensor voltage in that speed range too. You can also check the fuel pressure to see if it's within spec
