What is the best used muscle car I could buy?

I'm feeling that the days of these beauties are counted and I would love to get one for daily drive except during winters. As my pockets aren't unlimited even though I'm not broke either, I'd prefer to get a used one. I have a cheap old second car for the winters or as backup if my muscle car is broken. I don't like the design of the Crown Vic very much.

In terms of parts availability and general support models from the Big 3 from the 1960s and early 1970s are the ticket. If you want to march to the beat of a different drummer, AMC and Studebaker produced some interesting performance models, the latter offering factory supercharging.

If you are talking about modern muscle cars none of them are good for long term use especially beyond the warranty period.  They each have reliability/quality issues.
