Im looking at 2 vehicles to use as learners and to use to haul packages for money. Either that or I could sell them.

2005 Cadillac Escalade, 125,000 miles, automatic tranny. It needs fuel lines, brake lines, and the key which is missing. Person  is asking 2 grand.

2006 chevy tahoe 200,000 miles, automatic tranny. They say it stalls out (automatic tranny?), the muffler leaks, back window doesnt work (the back window is electric?), theres some rust on it they say. The pics look fine. Person is asking $800. I think this one would need a MAF sensor, a muffler, a new motor for the back window or a fuse, and some bondo work.

The Tahoe and Escalade are the same GM body with different badging I believe. I wouldn't even consider that Tahoe unless they maintained the transmission, that mileage is high for a GM.

The Escalade might be a better buy because the mileage is only 125k, but I wouldn't pay near $2,000 for a truck that can't at least be started, with or without a key. Fuel lines will be a task to replace, you can't pull a bed off and do it in a couple hours like you could with the pickup truck it was based on. The tank needs to be dropped.

All things considered, I'd look for something else, personally, unless that Escalade seller would take like $500, but I doubt they would.

Don't older tahoes or escalades last a very long time though? I thought after 2007 is when GM trucks/SUV's dropped in quality like mad. Was it like after 2005? I thought scotty reviewed a tahoe that was that old and he loved it.

I'd stay away from both of them. First of all, GM products are horrible in term of reliability. Secondly, you have no clue how the previous owners drove them. Don't believe in words of mouth, even Carfax is bullshit.
