Okay before I start I have an infiniti g37x (7 speed automatic) with 133k miles on the odometer. Only fault codes are a small leak in my evap system. And she's running a little lean because of the cold air intakes I've installed.
Now back to my question, and thank you in advance for your feedback.. Personally I don't like the clear bras, I think that you will agree aswell. First of all, the most obvious reason is the uneven paint wear. Once you remove it under the bra is cleaner than where there was no bra.
Second, it looks so nasty when it starts to wear and get potchy almost, sometimes (in my case) damaged all the way down to the metal underneath the paint. I don't know how or why that happened as I got the car used with the thing on it at 115k miles.
Also, would it blow your mind to know that upon removing the bra on my car, all of it was installed properly except the inside part of the passenger door handle divet. Someone decided to install it while the paint was still drying. I got a strong smell of paint while removing that piece and now I'm gonna have to get clear coat to put over it. I fear that it is not present anymore where that piece was.
What are your thoughts?
I thought those terrible things went out in the 90's. Bras just trap dirt and moisture. Blech.
I've never seen a clear one.
It's like some thick vinyl or something, peeled right off in the sunlight on a hot day. It's a shame that it was already installed when I got the car and yuck, trust me it didn't do the car any good. Thanks for the quick reply!
I think clear bras leave nothing to the imagination.
@Doc Obligatory upvote for you sir. {black}
They aren't a good idea and look awful when they start peeling.
