I think it was a decent motor. I’ve seen a couple with 400k mi. I think the replacement 7.3 GODZILLA V8 is going to prove to be a better motor though. And is obviously easier to work on and maintain. If you’re looking to buy a 6.8 if it was in overall good condition and the truck or SUV was in good shape and I had unlimited money for gas bill I would buy one.

I think it was a mistake that Ford discontinued the V10. That engine was good and it could of have potential. They could have bumped up the hp and torque and made versions of that engine for sports cars or for towing.
