Hello car community! This is my first time asking a question in a car forum so sorry if I'm acting like a noob.

I'm 16 and looking for a car to buy in the used car market. My criteria was the following: Standard Transmission, 4 door, FWD/AWD/4WD, 20 and up MPG, easy to work on. Any ideas guys/gals/Scotty? I know some of the stuff I want is like super difficult to meet with all the ideal stuff but could anyone find anything?

I live in CT too so rust might be a problem if I don't maintain it. I've been looking into this for awhile and thought about a standard transmission 04-08 Acura TL but it's very difficult to find. Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

Honda Civic would be a good choice to fit that criteria.

The 1981-1985 Mercedes diesels are very solid and can run for a long time and you can get them in manual. Check out TFL's video on the Mercedes diesel.

2010-2011; 2013-2015 Honda Civic manuel

2016+ Subaru Impreza Manuel (as long as you dont beat the engine up)

2014+ Mazda 3 manuel

Honda Fit manuel (not before 2009 as those are being recalled today actually)

2013+ Accord manuel

Go for a Mazda3 with a stick. You can probably find a nice lower mileage one for the money you want to spend compared to a toyota or Honda. They are great cars. I have owned 3 Mazdas over the years and no major issues well into 150k plus miles.
