I live in Hawaii and going to sell my Tacoma 4x4 becuse I can’t afford the monthly payment. I still would like to have a sporty vehicle for the sand, camping, and a little off roading. I’ve seen you with Hyundai, Kia, and Toyota. A friend told me to look at Subaru which never crossed my mind. Just looking for an insight on what you would look for living on an island.

In general you should stay away from Hyundai and Kia. Toyota and Honda remain the best choices. Subaru could be OK but avoid the Ascent. A turbocharged 4 cylinder engine with a CVT are not suitable for a vehicle that size if you expect it to last.
