Hi,
As used car prices begin to drop, I'm starting to consider replacing my 07 Grand Marquis. I'm seriously considering a 2010-2012 Avalon or possibly a mid 2000s Lexus LS 430 or 460. Any thoughts?
If you like the Grand Marquis why not look for a newer or lower mileage one, or a Crown Vic?
(Also a quick note, you posted this 4 times. The site can take some time to respond, please do not repeatedly click on the red button. Thank you.)
Sorry about that. The Marquis has 86 K and in great shape. I was thinking about something more modern with FWD. Just curious. Do you think it would be better to stick with a Panther compared to the Avalon?
I'd be inclined to keep a low-mileage Grand Marquis that's still in great condition rather than trade it for an unknown quantity. Bear in mind that along with more modern comes more maintenance and repair headaches.
Thank you Chuck. I'll definitely keep that in mind. I don't drive much nowadays so the GM could run well for a long time to come.
I am not a Ford guy. But that Panther platform is an exception.
I’d keep the Grand Marquis. One of the best cars ever built!
I second this! Ford's quality has been declining ever since the Panther Platform was retired IMO.
Thanks for the input.
I do have one more far fletched question. I may be down in Nashville in September or October. I know it's not to far from where Scotty lives. How would I go about asking him if he would be interested in taking a look at my GM and get a chance to say hi. I know he's done a few vids on the Grand Marquis. Maybe he'd be willing to give old Bernice a once over??
