Hi scotty. I've been watching your channel for many years now and i love it... I've never asked you a question before but here it is.
I have a 2012 escape V6 with an automatic transmission and i use it only 6 months a year. The escape only has 60,000 miles on it. I store it in a garage with a battery tender when i am not using the car. I was thinking it is time for a tune up, changing the plugs, plug wires and coil. Should i use original parts from the ford dealer or is it ok to use after market parts for the job. I've heard that even ford and gm use a third party to manufacture their parts. Is that true. Should i go ahead and do the work with a qualified person such as you or is it ok to let the repairs go for another year or so. It is running pretty good after bringing it out of storage. I also you staybill in the gas tank. Is there anything else i should do when i store the car. I think putting it on blocks is going a bit too far. thank you so much and keep the videos coming. bob jones an x ford worker at the cleveland engine plant in cleveland, brookpart ohio. First, make sure you need those.

Dorman is a good brand if you decided to replace the parts.
Consider replacing the ATF (drain and refill). About the other maintenance items, check your car owner's manual.
Tune up parts with the exception of sensors can usually be after market IF they come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty, IMO. Ford and other manufacturers contract with other companies to make their parts; they don't make all of them.
