What speed is best for car engine?

My vehicle is a 2021 Camry SE. 95% of my driving are highway. I drive 100 miles a day round trip to work and back. I know that highway driving is best for engine because of better airflow and constant engine speed, and idle transmission.

My question is, what speed is best for the engine? Is driving too fast bad? I usually drive 75-85 mph.

It all has to do with engine speed. Your most efficient speed is between 55 and 65 MPH for cars and trucks. After that, drag increases 4x for every time you double your speed.

If you're going 85 and the car is designed to be most efficient at 60, your car is experiencing twice as much drag compared to you going 60. That translates to increased fuel consumption, and it's pretty significant. If you're going 60 in top gear, and you increase to 85, you're burning twice as much fuel.

I drive my Mustang and Ranger and I go 60-65 and cruise in the right lane. When gas hit $5.05 two years ago, that made me quite fuel-conscious. I also have a minor in mechanical engineering, so I know a thing or two about types of energy.

Usually the lowest rpm for your top gear

It depends on the engine design.
