I’m looking for a van to buy to live in I’m looking at the promaster, transit,Nissan nv models which should I buy
budget? application? Details man.
if you don’t want a big sprinter van, try looking at some Chevy and express vans
The transit is tried and true. Its sturdier and much less expensive to service. Look at it this way. What does FedEx, UPS, Phone company, and school systems buy? Yep... Chevy and Ford vans.
And what do you see the most of? FORD. The transit or the latest model Econolines are by far sturdier, easy to get parts for, and good on fuel. The fleet vans have smaller engines like mine. I have a bit Econoline with a 4.6 V8 like in the crown vic. Lots of parts. Easy to service.
If you buy econoline, only buy the 5.0 liter coyote engine. The 5.4 and 4.6 had spark plug hole problems and you don't need that trouble.
Chevy vans, especially the 10 and 12 foot vans from Uhaul and Budget have a 4.8 liter V8 and are good on gas and easy to fix.
The Transit is by far the best one for a new vehicle. Light and efficient. The mercedes is a curse for parts and MB bullsh(feathers).
The dodge ram promaster is a rebadged european fiat front wheel drive van... as Scotty will point out, JUNK. The NV is too small. Nissan vans with V8's are gashogs.
