Whats the scoop on ford econoline f250s and 350 vans? 1995 models through 2010. Looking at a couple of them. One(the 1999) with 160k miles and another (1995) with 100k miles. I want to know how welp these things hold up because i may be living in on sometime soon
Do everything you can to NOT live in one.
Unfortunately a lot of people are having to look at living in their vehicles due to economic hardship. Probably a smallish RV would be a better choice than a van if you can find one.
I'd look for one with lower miles.
The vans are designated E, not F.
I have a 1993 E250 with the V8.
They're pretty much bulletproof. The body will rust away before the engine/trans lets you down.
Like anything else, the longevity will depend on if previous owners changed the oil and if they made a minimal effort to check fluids from time to time.
Check the prospects out good. If you select one that's been reasonably maintained you should be happy with it.
I'd get one with the V8 engine
I'm having a very similar experience with my 05 E-350 5.4L...
After 220K miles, everything is running like new, but the body is rusting away!
Breaks my heart to even think about getting rid of it, but the quarterpanels and chassis are starting to fall apart.
