How's it going Scott? I have an issue with my transmission. Ihave a 2014 Ford focus se and when I'm driving the car is okay. I've had 5 or 6 clutch replacements. I can't remember exactly. But lately when I put it in reverse and after I drive for a while, the car won't engage and continues forward even when in reverse. So I have to wait for it to engage which is a few seconds. Please I need your guidance thqnk you so much.

The automatic transmissions in those cars are garbage and there is no real fix for them. There was a class action lawsuit but unfortunately the window of time to take advantage of the settlement has passed.

They replaced my clutch but never did anything about the transmission. I need my car to go to work and I don't have any money saved because of bills. I'm trying to get a better job I'm just worried if I get the job and then my car craps out on me then I basically screwed myself. I would be working at general dynamics which is where they build submarines for the government. Idk what to do.

If you look at the links you'll see the problems with those transmissions are well-known and severe. The PowerShift transmission was a fatally flawed design when it went into production and was sold to the public, and Ford knew it at the time. Possibly there is a temporary fix available for the problem you're experiencing now but you'd have to check with a shop that is familiar with those transmissions. Maybe you can get it to limp along until you're in a position to get rid of it and get something better.
