Can alloy wheels collapse if they are used to support the front end of a car (the rear wheels are still attached, only the front alloy wheels are wedged under the car)
Theres no guarantee they will collapse but I wouldnt use them as a jack stand alone. Buy some jack stands and set your car on that then for added safety you can easily put the tire underneath the car as well. Pretty sure they wont collapse but jack stand are the safer move. Make sure they are steel jack stands. If you didnt want to use jack stands to just store the car with the wheels off you might try some cinder blocks.
Note: Cinder blocks only if your storing it not if your going to work under it.
Are you willing to risk your life on it? If you're going to be working under cars then use the proper tools.
I wouldn't ever trust using a wheel as a jack stand. That's a lot of weight. Wheels are designed to hold weight while having the circular side facing to the sides, and not laying flat. In practice, it might work fine, but certainly not the best thing to do.
Junk yards put their cars on steelies/wheels. Should you do it at home? No.
