Should I risk buying an electric car?

Hi Scotty,

I was considering buying an electric car, but I just read about a Jaguar i-Pace in the UK that COULDN'T stop, and it was travelling at 100 mph.  The police had to provide an escort to stop it.

I'm wondering about buying a petrol car now, and a manual, and one with a physical handbrake.  Oh yeah, and no GIANT TOUCHSCREEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DASH.

I wonder, Scotty, is that what I should do?

I love the feeling of a physical handbrake. Cars like that are less and less common new these days.

"Risk" is the key word...

Buy gas cars, then you don't need to be range-conscience all the time. Let other people be the guinea pig. Some of them always need to be ahead of everyone else and that may come to bite them in the rear.

I 100% agree with you there, it looks like somebody plastered an iPad on the dashboard and they look absolutely hideous. I have a 2017 Mustang, I'm fortunate enough to still have a manual handbrake.
