Door Lock Actuator Re-assembly

Topic starter

I’ve been trying to replace my door lock actuator assembly on my 06 Toyota Highlander v6, left driver side for about 2 days now, yet the re-assembly process has been very frustrating. Nothing I try works. I’ve bought a new actuator and thought that would fix my problems, but the door now doesn’t close all the way. I went ahead and disassembled the assembly and now I’m more confused than when I started. Any tips? Thanks.

You need to describe the problem please.

@imperator I took apart the assembly that connects the actuator to the locking mechanism but now I can’t seem to put the locking mechanism back together again. Check the link to see where I’m stuck.

Did you take photos before disassembly? Have you consulted a repair manual for your vehicle?

@chucktobias I haven’t taken a picture before disassembling but that website could be helpful

It has diagrams of the door internals.
