Where may I order online a pretensioner for my 07 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor?

RockAuto doesn't have those. I only find "rebuilders" of such. Or what kind of resistance would I need to make the light disappear? On which pins? Thanks

Are you talking about seatbelt pretensioners? After 18 years chances are new ones are unobtainium.

Most seatbelt pretensioners contain explosives and need to be treated the same way as air bags.

It's not really our policy here to tell people how to disable safety equipment.

@chucktobias Yes, I meant those. If they are unobtainable, what can I do?

Get them rebuilt, try to find good used parts - or ignore the warning on your dash at your own peril if you wind up having an accident where you need them.

@chucktobias Older cars didn't have them and it was still fine.

It depends on the specifics of the accident. The pretensioners pull your body into a position where the belts will be most effective.

@bob81 they weren't fine. People suffered injuries from whiplash. Not to mention tampering with the system can cause other unwanted effects.

  • Did you look? A quick websearch yielded many results, including myairbags.com
  • Have you tried the Ford dealer?
  • There are probably tons at the auto salvage yards.

I have the code B2292 Restraint System Seatbelt Pretensioner Fault. At the live data, I have: Pretensioner Circuit Open, Front Passenger Side: Fault

I have a 2.2 Ohms resistance at the pretensioner. At the orange wire, I have a voltage of 1V, 5V at the grey one and the blue one is the ground.

What now???

@bob81 Do those values coincide with the vehicle's specifications?

I don't know. That's the problem

@bob81 If the repair manual at charm.li for that car doesn't have the info you may have to buy a short-term subscription to Alldata DIY to get all service information for your vehicle. (Since AutoZone owns Alldata some stores have been reported to print out sections for free. You could see if a store is willing to print out service information and schematics for the pretensioners. That may be in a Suppelental Restraint section covering both airbags and pretentioners since they're all part of the same system.)
