🙂 I’m looking at buying a used Camry. Looking at a 2017 or 2019. Would like the usual good reliability that Toyota is know for.
would like LE or XLE for both years. Sunroof also if possible.
mare there things I should be on the lookout for?
I’m in Vancouver, Canada
The 2017 Toyota Camry is the last year of the previous generation and as such the best year to get - usually by then the bugs/issues have been ironed out. That would have been my choice as well if I was in the market for a used Camry. The LE/XLE trims have the engine (2.5L I4 2AR-FE) which is true and tried, mated to the 6-speed AT. 2018 is the first year of the new (and current) generation with the LE/XLE trims having the (unproven) I4 Dynamic Force Engine mated to the (unproven) 8-speed AT, although the current styling (to me) looks better and more sporty, and handles better than any generation before it. But if you are merely looking at keeping the vehicle for as long as possible and putting as many miles on it I would think the 2017 has an edge (or better chance) to do that compared to the 2019.
They’re still relatively new to know the long term reliability. However, no matter which you choose, have it inspected by a professional mechanic, before purchase.
All the best!
