Should I buy a Milan or Sentra

My mother is in the market for a new car. She absolutely hates Hondas/Toyotas (I have no idea how we are even related but that is besides the point).

Right now she is looking at two cars off Facebook Marketplace.

Car 1- Mercury Milan 2008 with 130,000 miles going for $1950.

Car 2- Nissan Sentra 2008 with 116,000 miles going for $3000

Which one is worth taking to a mechanics to do a PPI?

Of the two, the Milan would be the one. But be aware it isn't exactly a stellar choice.

It's an unenviable task, choosing between the lesser of two evils: Here's some data:

Well, at least they're not Chrysler Calibers.

From the choices offered, it seems as if it will come down to which of these has been better maintained, over the last thirteen years.

Good luck.

The Milan is actually a decent car. Between those two I would definitely go with that. If she hates Honda and Toyota I would be looking at Mazda, Subaru, and Suzuki if they are in your market.

The Mercury Milan is basically a Ford Fusion and they were OK I mean some transmission problems some water pump design issues with the V6 but that isn't a lot of money so if its in good shape now it could be alright.

The Sentra is of low quality. Its basically an econobox Renault Symbol in my eyes with all kinds of issues.

Neither are a great choice.  I guess the Milian is the better choice of the two.
