- I’ve been needing an SUV or pickup. Something older but something new to me, and something to haul stuff around town and that’s good in the winter, can’t really do much hauling with my little Acura. But I’ve seen online two good haulers. One is a 1997 GMC Sierra 1500 sle with 127,000 miles for 10,000 with the 5.7 litter and 4 speed automatic transmission. The other is a 1999 GMC Suburban k1500 with 175,000 miles for $6,750 with the 5.7 litter 4speed auto trans as well. Both have 4 wheel drive which is a must because I live in Colorado where our winter snow storms can get crazy. Let me know which is more reliable for the price. Both from dealerships.

Personally I’d go with a used Toyota Tundra. Extremely reliable and since you won’t be using as a primary vehicle, the low mileage won’t be an issue. 125K is nothing for them.

The newer a GM product, the less reliable so probably the 1997 and 10,000 USD for a 23 year old GMC is way too much. Like 5-7k too much

Yeah pickup is way overpriced. Both are GMT400s which is a good platform. Personally I'd go for the GMT800 so a 99-06 Chevy or GMC, they just drive and ride nicer and are still reliable.
