Hey

Which of these mobil 1 do you recommend?

https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mobil-1-5w20-synthetic-engine-oil-4-73-l-0289452p.html#srp

https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mobil-1-5w20-extended-performance-synthetic-oil-4-73-l-0289462p.html#srp

https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mobil-1-5w20-synthetic-high-mileage-oil-4-73-l-0289465p.html#srp

Its only a few dollars more for the exteneded performance. And I also read that if you use the high mileage, you can't go back, is this true?

All of these on sale go from $28-32.

Thanks

Whatever is cheaper....

re going back, not true...

you can switch from conventional to synthetic or Vice versa, you can switch the three you mentioned whenever you want.

i use Quaker State 5-30 Full Synthetic, you can buy it at Walmart in 5 quart bottle for $19 bucks, never better.....always change your oil at 5,000 no exceptions......

@oneimich
does the extended mobil have more additives since they advertise it to 25k km lol i chnage mine every 3800 miles

Change your oil every 5ooo miles and you are fine. So you do not need those fancy ones.

Regarding changing oil type, it is recommended not to change the oil type and always stick to the manufacturer recommendation.

@yaser
Once again, you can switch if you want, but he’s right, just stick to the manufacturer recommended. Brand is one thing, specification is another.
Just keep it simple.....

I’m telling my reason about not changing the oil type. Different oils have different additives and if your engine get used to a certain oil type, it is not a smart idea to change it over and over.

@yaser
Marketing is here to stay, pick an oil and drive the car, that’s it.

Unless you are really abusive like heavy/dirty towing conditions just stick to a good change schedule and any quality rated oil
