Which Mustang GT?

Hey Scotty, I want to buy a Ford Mustang GT with a manual, but I'm not sure which generation I should buy. I work at a Ford dealer, so I'm assuming I could get a decent deal on a brand new one, but I'd want it to be fully loaded, especially with that active exhaust so that I won't annoy my neighbors, but I know that would be a bit pricey. And when buying used, you run the risk of some kid that has beaten it or modified it to death. What should I go for?

2005-2009 or the “s197” mustangs are super reliable and easy to work on.  I’ve had one one for a few years and not a single issue. I’ve seen many examples of these cars go well over 200k miles.

Avoid anything with the Coyote V8, especially past '18. You work at a dealer. Go talk to your techs. The new Coyotes burn oil like mad and many have had multiple blocks replaced due to it.

Reliable ones would be the S197 which is from '05 to '09. However, let's not forget that the 2010 GT was the new body style but still rocked the 4.6L V8. I had one in Grabber Blue and I absolutely loved it. But the 4.6L V8 3V is the way to go for longevity, with the 4.6L V8 2V New Edge and SN95 models coming a close second.
