Should I buy the 2014 Nissan Maxima SV or the 2014 Honda Accord Ex coupe 2.4 L I4? I love Hondas but I wanted to try this premium Maxima.
All else being equal I would take the Accord over the Maxima. Nissan quality has not been very good overall in recent years and the Jatco CVTs used in their cars are a real weak point, costing $$$$ when they crater. With either vehicle a trusted mechanic would need to give the car a thorough check.
No comparison. Go with the Honda.
You don't mention price or mileage, but just between Honda and Nissan well definitely Honda as long as a mechanic check's the car and it doesn't have problems.

Maxima is not a bad car fs as the VQ35De and CVT combo in that car was pretty decent vs the 4 cylinder and CVT combos in other Nissans from a reliability perspective, but it won't last as long as the Accord, so yeah buy the Accord.
Nissan with a cvt, I'd pass and get the Honda
