Which Toyota should I get

I'm looking at getting either a 2015 Toyota Prius v with 78000 miles for $18K with only 1previous owner, a 2020 base Toyota Corolla with 65k miles for $17K that had 3 previous owners, one of which used it as a rental car or a Lexus 2013 LEXUS RX 450H HYBRID that's fully loaded and has 99K miles for $20K, and 2 previous owners.

They all have CVT transmissions.

Which one should I go for? The Prius and Lexus come with 3K limited warranty, but the Corolla is sold as is.

Okay, how about 2012 Toyota Corolla with 28000 miles for 15k?

That is a ludicrous price for a nearly 12-year-old Corolla. The mileage is suspect and would need to be confirmed and of course a good mechanic would need to pronounce it fit for purchase.

I think it is legit. Headlights are sparkling,.and everything is completely spotless.

Professional detailing doesn't mean the car is actually in good condition under the skin. See if Carfax shows any services or incidents with higher mileage (about all it's good for). Don't believe anything the seller tells you and be sure to have a good mechanic check it out BEFORE purchase if you proceed. If the seller won't permit a pre-purchase inspection run away, they're hiding something.

Agreed, I could find a much better Toyota for that price.

Translate it does prices. I wouldn't buy any of them. Normally I would say get a Corolla but it's at all those previous owners so obviously there's something wrong with it. People are selling it and then passing and that's probably been wrecked a bunch of times. But if those prices with those mileage I would look elsewhere

I guess I'll need to keep on looking. Living in northern Minnesota makes searching for affordable and reliable cars, all that more difficult.

Thanks Scotty for taking the time to reply.👍

If you are willing to travel, you can find a much better car, for a much better price.

I have purchased several cars that were way overpriced in my area, or none were in my area, and spent a couple of days to travel and get it. I have never regretted making the trip.

Unfortunately travelling more than a few hours is not practical for me right now😥

What I can tell you is this, you are in a corolla dead zone. They have very few for sale, I would guess because most want a suv or subaru or something for winter.

What about something like a Rav4? They have an abundance of those in your area, and you could get a nice one for a decent price.

What type of car are you looking for exactly? Are you wanting cheap reliable transportation, like the corolla or prius, or suv with decent gas mileage like the RX? I will say that from what I read, the lexus and prius mpg may be exaggerated, I also would not want to buy a hybrid that old.
