Looking for a 4WD truck. Had a 2009 RWD Frontier and loved it but not great in snow. Have seen 2019 Nissan 4WD($25,900), 2015 F-150 ($32,900) or 2018 F-150($29,900) (both under 100,000 mi) or 2020 Toyota Tacoma ($34,900). I like them all but want to spend the least amount and keep the truck for a long time. What's your opinion? Trucks are stupid expensive so don't want to make a mistake.
For that small price difference get a 2020 model Tacoma since it is last year's model it should be enough drop in price. The Tacoma will last longer and hold it's value. If you consider a F-150 or Frontier, it would be smart to buy it only if it has depreciated a good 7 8 years, but not that new.
My opinion is get an AWD Toyota if you look a truck for a long time.
Go Tacoma and don't look back. You will save so much money by not having to purchase another vehicle 5, 10 years from now.
Between those 4 definitely go with the Tacoma. It may be more expensive of the 4 initially but in the long run it will end up costing the least of the 4 - based on past history. Also, resale value will be better.
