2016 chevy equinox 49k miles. It is cold now and when I start it up there is a whining coming from the dash. I turn the fan down and then it goes away. Then I can turn the fan back up and not hear it. Is this just because it's cold or because of gm crap? Thank you scotty

What kind of a "whine" are we talking about here? Like high pitched but quiet or a loud solid tone?
My initial 2 cents is that maybe it is the bearing in the blower whining when cold? So not something to overly worry about?
Can you hear this whine coming out of every vent or is it from within the dash?
The blower motor is under the glove box. So listen around and see if that's the source.
Our Honda's motor has been whining for 3 years. Still going though.
