Whistling noise when cold

I have a 2019 Colorado with 30000 miles that has started making a wining or high pitch whistle when I first start driving on cold days. It stops once warmed up. I thought it might be the transmission or the serpentine belt and asked my mechanic to check. He did use some dressing on the belt and said it was just the hydraulics. I am really concerned it may be the tranny.

I am bringing it in to change (not flush) the fluid and filter. I wanted your thoughts before I do anything.

When the truck was new there was a recall because it would shutter while driving. Turned out that they did not change the break in fluid and replacing it stopped the problem.

Hope you can give me good advice. I really don't want any car payments.

Thank you, Bob

Well, see my video finding the source of car noises, Scotty. It's on YouTube and you can get a device like that to pinpoint any noise. Now sometimes whistling noise is a PCV valve that will do that. In which case you'd put the device on the valve and hear it whistling. It could also be on the intake manifold plenum where the plastic gets either worn or carbon on it and that whistles. But of course it could be many things you need to pinpoint the noise
